About the Role
The Dangote Group is one of Africa's most diversified business conglomerates, renowned for excellent business practices and product quality. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Mechanical Technician L3&4 to join our manufacturing plant in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will perform a variety of tasks pertaining to the fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair, and service of mechanical equipment, instruments, and structures, ensuring optimal plant efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with shift technicians to identify problematic equipment and effect prompt repairs.
- Execute corrective and preventative maintenance on assigned plant machines.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Perform work order repairs, inspections, adjustments, and replace minor fixtures.
- Take weekly inventory of working tools to ensure compliance with the original tool list.
- Enter spare parts and consumable data into enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP.
- Maintain tools, tackle, and personally clean operating equipment for effective performance.
- Report breakdowns or stoppages exceeding 30 minutes to sectional engineers promptly.
- Fill out daily job checklists, file them properly, and ensure thorough cleanup of scraps after maintenance.
- SSCE with 10 to 20 years of relevant experience, or Trade Test I with 8 to 16 years of experience.
- Alternatively, Trade Test II with 16 to 24 years of experience, or OND in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of the cement production process and in-depth understanding of cement packing machines.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment with accuracy and speed.
