About the Role

We are currently looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Team Lead, Card Settlement to join our vibrant team in Nigeria. In this role, you will supervise and authorize settlements, support the Unit Head in delivering exceptional service to partners, and champion the automation of settlement processes to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and authorize daily card transaction settlements while ensuring strict adherence to internal controls and regulatory policies.
- Manage the end-to-end settlement processes and procedures for Visa, Verve, Afrigo, Amex, and Mastercard.
- Balance incoming and outgoing transaction reports against settlement values received from payment switches.
- Ensure accurate daily general ledger entries for merchant transactions, suspense account clearance, and relevant expense or revenue accounts.
- Oversee prompt processing of merchant settlements, chargebacks, credit card repayments, and DTS reconciliations to minimize financial exposure.
- Render all regulatory reports accurately and punctually.
- Champion the automation of settlement workflows and analyze operational data to identify trends, issues, and optimization opportunities.
- Provide regular training, guidance, and mentorship to settlement officers while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
- First degree in any discipline with a minimum of Second-Class Honors.
- A relevant Master’s degree or recognized professional certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant banking operations experience, with specialized knowledge in card settlements and financial services.
