We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Surface Preparation Technician / Abrasive Blaster to join our dynamic team and support high-standard industrial and oil & gas coating projects across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out abrasive blasting, grit blasting, and mechanical surface preparation activities efficiently.
  • Prepare steel structures, pipelines, tanks, and other industrial surfaces to specified cleanliness and surface-profile requirements.
  • Inspect prepared surfaces using profile and DFT gauges before coating application.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and properly store blasting equipment, immediately reporting any defects or unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure all project operations strictly comply with engineering specifications, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
  • Maintain proper site housekeeping and uphold a safe working environment for all team members.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience in surface preparation and industrial coating works within the oil and gas or manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise with abrasive blasting, grit blasting, and mechanical surface preparation methods.
  • Solid working knowledge of international surface preparation standards including Sa 2½, Sa 3, St 2, and St 3.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining industrial blasting equipment safely.
  • Familiarity with using inspection tools such as surface profile gauges and Dry Film Thickness (DFT) gauges.
  • Strong awareness of HSE guidelines, proper PPE utilization, and safe industrial work practices.
  • Relevant professional certifications in blasting and protective coating will be a distinct advantage.
