Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, our centre is dedicated to becoming West Africa's premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker (Healthcare Assistant) to join our multidisciplinary team and deliver exceptional, patient-centered care in a cutting-edge healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic clinical environment in compliance with hospital infection control policies.
- Accompany patients to various departments within the facility for treatments, examinations, or procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing and medical team regarding any changes in patient conditions.
- Relevant healthcare qualifications, nursing assistant certification, or a related healthcare background.
- Demonstrated experience working in a hospital, clinic, or caregiving environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with deep empathy and patience for patients facing oncology and surgical care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
