About the Role
Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, the centre is poised to become West Africa’s premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker (Cook) to join our esteemed dietary and patient support team, helping us deliver world-class healthcare services that eliminate outbound medical tourism.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals tailored to the specific dietary requirements and medical restrictions of patients.
- Maintain impeccable standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and sanitation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to ensure meal plans align with patient care protocols and nutritional guidelines.
- Assist in inventory management, food supplies inspection, and daily kitchen stock ordering.
- Provide compassionate support to patients during meal times, ensuring a pleasant and dignified dining experience.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses within the medical facility.
- Relevant culinary qualifications, catering certificates, or related certifications in food preparation and hospitality.
- Proven professional experience working as a cook or dietary support worker, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, nutrition, and international food safety standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
