About the Role

Ikore International Development Limited is an international development organization driving sustainable social and enterprise development through market inclusion, capacity building, and strategic advisory. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven State Team Lead for an upcoming advocacy project in Ekiti State.

In this role, you will provide overall leadership, coordination, and technical oversight for programme implementation within the state. You will translate strategies into high-quality field interventions by coordinating Farmer Organization (FO) strengthening, farmer-led advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and market systems interventions. This is a critical leadership position designed to ensure local ownership, sustainability, and impactful delivery of project targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of all programme activities within Ekiti State in accordance with approved workplans and project timelines.
  • Supervise state-based project staff, Farmer Champions, Women Champions, and youth innovators while providing coaching and performance support.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with State Ministries, ADPs, local government authorities, financial institutions, and private-sector actors.
  • Coordinate capacity building, leadership development, and institutional strengthening for participating Farmer Organizations and cooperatives.
  • Oversee farmer-led advocacy campaigns, community mobilization, demonstration activities, and inclusive participation of women and youth.
  • Ensure timely collection, verification, and submission of high-quality programme data, progress reports, and documentation of success stories.
  • Monitor implementation risks, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and support audits, evaluations, and monitoring missions.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Development Studies, Agribusiness, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience implementing agriculture, rural development, or market systems programmes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in coordinating field implementation, supervising multidisciplinary teams, and working with Farmer Organizations.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural market systems, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and community mobilization in Nigeria.
  • Fluency in English and the dominant local language of Ekiti State, with exceptional communication and report-writing skills.
  • Must be a resident of Ekiti State or willing to relocate immediately upon employment.
