About the Role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a dynamic and organized State Administrative and Logistic Officer to join our team in Oyo State. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our award-winning research-for-development (R4D) initiatives by managing seamless administrative, logistical, and procurement operations at the state level to enhance food security and agricultural productivity in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities, including training sessions, workshops, community sensitization events, and Youth Agribusiness Park activities.
  • Manage daily administrative functions, including office supplies, filing systems, asset registers, utilities, and vendor service contracts.
  • Coordinate local, low-value procurement in compliance with IITA policies and manage the receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of program materials and starter kits.
  • Supervise state drivers, oversee vehicle scheduling, maintenance tracking, and fuel management, and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage petty cash and imprest for the state office, prepare financial retirements, and submit timely expenditure returns.
  • Support human resources administration, including staff onboarding, attendance tracking, and local stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant administrative and logistics experience, preferably with an NGO, research institute, or development program.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oyo State, including local government structures and communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the state, including to rural and peri-urban locations.
