About the Role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a dynamic and organized State Administrative and Logistic Officer to support our impactful research-for-development programs in Oyo State. In this vital role, you will ensure seamless daily operations, coordinate logistics for community and youth agribusiness activities, and maintain the highest standards of administrative excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities, workshops, training sessions, and Youth Agribusiness Park events.
  • Manage comprehensive office administration, including asset registers, utility management, office supplies, and vendor service contracts.
  • Oversee local low-value procurement, inventory tracking, and distribution of program materials and starter kits to participants.
  • Supervise state drivers, manage vehicle scheduling, maintenance tracking, and fuel administration.
  • Handle petty cash administration, financial retirements, and submit timely expenditure returns to the Project Accountant.
  • Support human resources functions such as staff onboarding, attendance tracking, and local travel arrangements.
  • Engage proactively with local government authorities, community leaders, and program stakeholders.
  • Ensure stringent compliance with IITA safeguarding, health, safety, and security protocols across all operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven administrative and logistics experience, preferably within an NGO, research institute, or development sector.
  • In-depth familiarity with the local geography, government structures, and communities within Oyo State.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong record-keeping capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills with a high level of professional integrity.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the state to rural and peri-urban locations.
