About the Role
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a dedicated and proactive State Administrative and Logistic Officer to join our dynamic team in Lagos. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our mission to enhance food security and alleviate poverty in Africa by ensuring the seamless execution of administrative, financial, and logistical operations at the state level.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate logistics for state-level activities including workshops, training sessions, and Youth Agribusiness Park events.
- Manage comprehensive state office administration, encompassing supplies, asset registers, utilities, and vendor contracts.
- Handle local low-value procurement in strict alignment with IITA policies and approved state work plans.
- Oversee the receipt, inventory, and distribution of program materials and starter kits to participants.
- Supervise state drivers, manage vehicle scheduling, maintenance tracking, and fuel consumption.
- Administer petty cash, prepare financial retirements, and submit timely expenditure returns to the Project Accountant.
- Support human resources functions including staff onboarding, attendance tracking, and local travel coordination.
- Liaise with local government authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven administrative and logistics experience, preferably within an NGO or research institute.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Deep familiarity with local government structures and communities in Lagos State.
