About the Role
British American Tobacco is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sourcing Executive to join our procurement team in Nigeria. In this role, you will manage comprehensive procurement sourcing activities for Nigeria while providing strategic support to selected Sub-Saharan Africa markets. You will partner closely with internal business stakeholders to deliver exceptional value through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation, all while ensuring strict procurement compliance and supply chain continuity in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for Nigeria and support Sub-Saharan Africa markets where applicable.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier selection processes, and complex commercial negotiations.
- Manage supplier performance, risk mitigation, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with BAT procurement policies, governance requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Support cost-saving, value creation, and supply assurance initiatives to meet business objectives.
- Provide reliable procurement market intelligence and commercial insights to support critical business decisions.
- Collaborate seamlessly with regional and global procurement teams to implement category strategies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Category Management, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Commercial savvy with the demonstrated ability to analyze market and supplier data effectively.
- Proven experience managing complex sourcing projects and strategic supplier relationships.
- Solid knowledge of procurement governance, contracting, and risk management processes.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and transformative environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with SAP or Coupa knowledge serving as an added advantage.
