About the Role
Benin Medical Care is a world-class healthcare facility located along Adesuwa Grammar School Road in the heart of Benin City. Commissioned on November 1, 2019, we provide comprehensive general and specialist medical services to individuals and families. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Sonographer to join our vibrant diagnostic imaging team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations in accordance with approved clinical protocols and departmental standards.
- Conduct diverse scans including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynaecological, breast, small-parts, musculoskeletal, vascular/Doppler, and thyroid studies.
- Review patients clinical information and referral requests prior to examinations to determine appropriate scanning protocols.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, ensuring their comfort, dignity, privacy, and safety throughout the process.
- Operate advanced ultrasound equipment effectively, optimising machine settings to capture clear and diagnostically useful images.
- Perform accurate measurements, document relevant observations, and ensure all required images are properly labelled and stored.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Radiography or Medical Imaging Sciences.
- Completion of a Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) or specialized certification program in Medical Imaging from an accredited institution.
- Current valid practicing license from the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
- Completed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of post-qualification practical diagnostic ultrasound experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in basic and specialized scans, including fetal anomaly scans, transvaginal scans, and Doppler studies.
- Ability to work independently with speed, accuracy, and under pressure.
