About the Role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a prominent leader in the Nigerian manufacturing and FMCG sector, is seeking a diligent and skilled Solvent Extraction Plant Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimally extracting oil from prepared palm kernel cake while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Periodically inspect the extractor feed hopper to ensure the free flow of cake on the bed through the sight glass and maintain a reasonable material seal.
- Take dips of all solvent underground tanks at resumption and shift end, reporting findings to the supervisor on duty.
- Monitor the flow rate of Miscella and the extractor hexane sprayer pump, alongside operating parameters for the DT, distillation, and hexane recovery systems.
- Record indicator readings and test results from quality control, while regulating temperature, material flow, and steam pressure to meet set points.
- Ensure strict compliance with Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) requirements and understand departmental food safety risks and policies.
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment, with practical knowledge of solvent extraction plant operations.
