About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital financial platform in Nigeria, providing instant loans and financial services through our Android application to millions of users. As a Software Engineer (Identity) on our engineering team, you will build reliable, scalable systems supporting identity verification, KYC, authentication, and critical customer onboarding processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage modern AI-assisted development tools, and deliver secure solutions that directly impact our financial services ecosystem in Lagos.
Key Responsibilities- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining robust backend systems for Identity, KYC, authentication, and related financial services.
- Contributing to technical projects from initial development through deployment and production maintenance.
- Building and supporting reliable distributed systems and high-performance backend services.
- Working closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, and other engineering teams to deliver effective compliance solutions.
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to engineering standards and best practices.
- Identifying and resolving performance, scalability, reliability, and security issues.
- Using AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve team productivity and software delivery.
- 4+ years of professional experience in backend software development within fast-paced tech environments.
- Solid experience building backend services and working with distributed architectures.
- Proficiency in Go, or strong experience in another backend language with a demonstrated willingness to transition to Go.
- Good understanding of software engineering principles, system design, automated testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
- Familiarity with fintech domains including identity verification, KYC, authentication, or fraud prevention is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS and collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
