Bronze Stone Capital is a dynamic non-banking financial institution and impact investment firm dedicated to driving sustainable economic growth across Nigeria. We are currently looking for a talented Software Engineer specializing in Android POS and Payment Infrastructure to join our growing technology team. In this pivotal role, you will design and implement robust payment solutions that power micro-financing, retail operations, and sustainable MSME investments nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Architect and write clean, modular, and maintainable native code using Kotlin and Java specifically for Android POS terminals including PAX, Sunmi, and Nexgo.
- Integrate and wrap manufacturer-specific Android SDKs to seamlessly control internal terminal printers, camera-driven barcode scanners using Google ML Kit, and NFC modules.
- Implement secure data transmission protocols, Software-based PIN on Glass SPoC, and cryptographic mechanisms to safeguard sensitive transaction data.
- Build a dynamic app architecture capable of switching smoothly between a low-bandwidth Lite Agent Mode and a data-rich Retail ERP Mode based on configuration profiles.
- Collaborate on configuring Mobile Device Management MDM hooks for remote Kiosk Mode enforcement and silent, over-the-air OTA app updates.
- Expert-level mastery of Kotlin and core Java for Android development, with Android NDK C/C++ experience being a major advantage.
- Documented experience working with EMV standards, payment gateways, and financial transaction formatting.
- Proven background in deploying software on Android POS hardware and integrating third-party payment peripherals.
- Strong understanding of mobile security best practices, PCI DSS compliance, and cryptographic protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced impact investment environment in Nigeria.
