Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our growing team in Northeast Nigeria. BOWDI is a prominent women-led, registered non-governmental and non-profit organization headquartered in Borno State, committed to advancing education, peace-building, advocacy, food security, livelihoods, and protection. Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive community outreach and needs assessments to identify vulnerable individuals and families requiring social support.
- Provide direct counseling, casework, and psychosocial support services to women, children, and other at-risk groups.
- Facilitate community engagement initiatives and peace-building workshops to promote social cohesion and resilience.
- Collaborate closely with local stakeholders, community leaders, and partner organizations to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Maintain accurate case management records, compile progress reports, and document project milestones in compliance with organizational standards.
- Assist in the implementation of advocacy campaigns, educational programs, and livelihood empowerment activities across target communities.
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, or a related field.
- Proven professional experience working within the humanitarian or non-profit sector, preferably in Northeast Nigeria.
- Strong understanding of protection principles, case management protocols, and community development methodologies.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills with the ability to build trust in diverse cultural settings.
- Fluency in English and Hausa or Kanuri is highly desirable for effective field communication.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and report writing.
