About the Role
Polaris Bank Limited, a leading Systematically Important Bank in Nigeria, is seeking a motivated and results-driven Small & Medium Scale Enterprise (SME) Officer to join our vibrant team in Enugu. In this role, you will be instrumental in empowering local businesses by delivering innovative financial solutions, driving customer acquisition, and managing profitable credit portfolios while upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Drive aggressive SME customer acquisition, onboarding, and retention to sustainably grow the regional business portfolio.
- Build and nurture robust relationships with SME clients, proactively identifying cross-selling opportunities to enhance customer value.
- Conduct comprehensive financial assessments, prepare detailed credit proposals, and meticulously monitor loan performance and portfolio quality.
- Achieve and exceed assigned targets for loan disbursement, deposit mobilization, and non-interest revenue generation.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal credit policies, operational guidelines, KYC/AML mandates, and broader regulatory requirements.
- Analyze local market trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities within the Enugu SME ecosystem.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to guarantee prompt service delivery and operational excellence.
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or any related discipline.
- Between 2 to 5 years of proven professional experience in SME, commercial, or business banking, direct sales, or relationship management.
- Demonstrated expertise in customer acquisition strategies, comprehensive credit analysis, and portfolio risk management.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and analytical skills tailored to the Nigerian financial services sector.
