About the Role
Quema Consulting is seeking a dedicated and skilled Site Engineer to join our dynamic team on behalf of a reputable client in the construction sector. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality building projects across Nigeria by managing daily site operations, ensuring strict adherence to architectural designs, and maintaining optimal Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards. Key Responsibilities- Supervise all concrete works comprehensively, including formwork, reinforcement placement, pouring, curing, and thorough inspections.
- Interpret complex structural and architectural drawings accurately to ensure precise implementation on the construction site.
- Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, tradesmen, and various project stakeholders to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Conduct stringent quality control checks, managing concrete mix designs, slump tests, and cube tests.
- Monitor the efficient utilization of materials, manpower, and heavy equipment while tracking overall site progress.
- Ensure total compliance with project specifications, local building codes, and rigorous HSE standards.
- Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly site reports alongside actionable work plans for the project team.
- Liaise proactively with external consultants and the Project Manager to resolve technical site issues promptly.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in building construction, with a strong focus on reinforced concrete structures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading, interpreting, and executing structural and architectural drawings.
- Sound, practical knowledge of general construction methods, concrete works, and rigorous site supervision.
- Strong understanding of construction quality control protocols and standard concrete testing procedures.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, and organizational skills tailored to fast-paced environments.
- Active membership in COREN, NSE, or other relevant professional bodies will be a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings will be considered an added advantage.
