About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Electrical and Automation Manager to join Unilever, one of Nigeria's leading fast-moving consumer goods companies. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical and automation systems at our manufacturing facility. You will ensure high equipment availability, safety compliance, energy efficiency, and drive automation initiatives that enhance productivity and product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain HT/LT electrical installations, instrumentation, and automation systems through planned and autonomous maintenance activities
- Achieve zero production stoppages by optimizing machine reliability and implementing preventive maintenance strategies
- Lead electrical safety audits, identify gaps, and develop comprehensive corrective action plans across all Unilever sites
- Oversee evaluation and execution of capital expenditure projects for electrical and automation systems within budget and timeline
- Manage skill development programs for technicians and plant operators on electrical safety and system utilization
- Drive cost-effective programs to minimize electrical demand and optimize power distribution efficiency
- Serve as primary contact with the Local Electricity Board for power supply reliability
- Manage contractual engineering services in compliance with Unilever guidelines and local legislation
- Ensure adherence to all Unilever mandatory policies on safety, health, environment, and quality standards
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience with HT/LT distribution systems
- Certification in automation systems (Siemens or Rockwell preferred)
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulatory compliance
