About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Shift Manager for our Packing Plant operations in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will coordinate all production and maintenance activities to prevent operational disruptions and ensure that our ambitious manufacturing targets are consistently met, contributing to our mission of providing basic needs and driving local economic growth.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the development and articulation of the plant maintenance plan and shift production activities.
- Oversee the effective and efficient execution of the plant maintenance plan and shift operations at the packing plant unit.
- Plan for and order packing plant machine spares based on unit requirements in a timely manner.
- Supervise the activities of engineers and shift operational staff to ensure equipment availability with minimum downtime.
- Oversee liaison with relevant HSE personnel for the provision of personal protection equipment and safety training.
- Ensure routine and corrective maintenance is carried out on packing plant machines efficiently.
- Coordinate the management of a comprehensive database for all maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of the Packing Plant.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience in a heavy manufacturing or cement production environment.
- Strong expertise in cement packing machines, functions, and maintenance procedures.
- Exceptional troubleshooting, diagnostic, and equipment repair abilities.
- Robust leadership, supervisory, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
