About the Role
Lekki Freeport Terminal, a multi-purpose deep-sea port located at the heart of the Lagos Free Trade Zone, is looking for a dynamic Shift Manager to join our world-class team. This crucial role covers both the project implementation and operational phases, taking charge of day-to-day terminal activities including vessel, yard, gate, and container freight station (CFS) operations. You will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve strategic management goals and ensure exceptional client satisfaction at one of West Africa's most modern ports.
Key Responsibilities- Play an active role in the project implementation phase by preparing job descriptions, training plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for frontline teams.
- Manage, motivate, and direct execution team members, ensuring high productivity and efficient utilization of equipment and labor resources.
- Enforce strict adherence to Lekki Freeport Terminal safety, security, and environmental policies across all shifts.
- Liaise closely with shipping lines, trucking companies, customs, NPA, and other statutory authorities to maintain seamless operational flow.
- Monitor daily operations to meet or exceed established performance benchmarks, proactively resolving any bottlenecks or client issues.
- Oversee cost control measures, manage shift reports, and ensure accurate data provision for billing and finance departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in port operations, container terminal management, or logistics, with proven supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and port automation processes.
- Exceptional leadership, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian port authorities, customs procedures, and maritime safety standards.
