About the Role

HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a global leader in innovative building solutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to join our manufacturing team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for achieving the shift's budgeted clinker production targets while ensuring safe, reliable, and environmentally sustainable operations. You will manage day-to-day plant activities, enforce stringent safety standards through Visible Felt Leadership, and coordinate closely with maintenance teams to optimize production lines from quarry to packing plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and optimize all aspects of the production line to ensure compliance with company KPIs and environmental standards.
  • Enforce HBM Nigeria safety rules and lead plant emergency response protocols to maintain a zero-harm workplace.
  • Supervise and coordinate shift and night maintenance activities, reviewing equipment status, breakdowns, and repair works.
  • Oversee kiln re-bricking, major plant shutdowns, turnaround maintenance, and contractor performance.
  • Guide, train, appraise, and mentor shift subordinates to foster a high-performing and competent workforce.
  • Maintain comprehensive daily production reports, log sheets, and ensure adherence to EMS and ISO quality management systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any Engineering discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a Shift Manager or Production Coordinator within a cement manufacturing plant.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, product quality parameters, and computerized kiln/mill operating systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
