About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Shelling Mechanic to join the production team of our client in Ibafo, Ogun State. In this vital role, you will ensure the optimal performance of specialized processing machinery, minimizing downtime and supporting seamless daily production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and maintain shelling machines and related mechanical equipment in a cashew processing plant.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure longevity and peak performance of all machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults rapidly and execute effective corrective repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Perform comprehensive inspections of machine components, moving parts, and mechanical systems.
- Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, machine performance, and spare parts inventory.
- Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Minimum of an OND, Technical Certificate, or Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2 to 7 years of hands-on mechanical experience, preferably within a cashew processing plant or the broader agro-allied/food processing industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing shelling machinery or similar industrial equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and respond swiftly to emergency machine breakdowns.
