About the Role
Sayed Farms Limited, a prominent leader in the Nigerian poultry and frozen food sector since 2004, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Veterinary Doctor. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee veterinary health, biosecurity, and disease prevention across our commercial breeder farms, ensuring optimal flock performance, egg production, and hatchability.
Key Responsibilities- Provide veterinary leadership and technical oversight to ensure optimal flock health, welfare, fertility, and egg production.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive vaccination, medication, and disease prevention protocols.
- Conduct routine flock health assessments, post-mortem examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and laboratory submissions.
- Enforce rigorous biosecurity programs across all breeder farms, including sanitation, pest control, and movement protocols.
- Supervise, train, and guide Veterinary Officers and other technical staff on best practices.
- Collaborate with Nutrition, Hatchery, and Farm Management teams to resolve factors impacting reproductive performance.
- Lead disease surveillance and outbreak response activities, offering timely recommendations to management.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure strict compliance with veterinary regulations and animal welfare standards.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognized institution.
- Must be fully registered and licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Nigeria.
- Minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 7 years in commercial breeder farm operations.
- Strong expertise in broiler breeder health management, vaccination programs, and disease diagnosis.
- Proficiency in monitoring key production parameters such as mortality, flock uniformity, and hatchability.
