About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Technologist to join the Laboratory Technical Services team at the Paul Odili College of Medicine, located in River Park Estate, Lugbe, Abuja (FCT). In this vital role, you will oversee laboratory administration, coordinate practical academic activities, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality control, and equipment management to support undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and research.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise technical staff and coordinate daily laboratory operations within the College of Medicine.
- Manage laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, inventory, and strict adherence to quality control protocols.
- Support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and practical laboratory demonstrations.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with academic staff to design and execute experimental procedures for medical research.
- Perform other relevant laboratory and administrative duties as assigned by the University authority.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree, HND, or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant laboratory discipline.
- Appropriate professional registration or valid license where applicable.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience in recognized tertiary institutions, teaching hospitals, or research institutes.
- Demonstrated expertise in laboratory administration, supervision, and inventory management.
- Strong competence in laboratory safety, equipment handling, and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
