About the Role
Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, operator of the OML 30 asset in the Niger Delta, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Technical Safety Engineer on a project contract basis. In this role, you will provide expert technical, process safety, and general HSE engineering support for surface production systems design, testing, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
Key Responsibilities- Review, check, and approve critical process and technical safety documentation for assigned oil and gas projects.
- Collaborate closely with contractor engineering teams to ensure designs align with company, national, and international standards.
- Evaluate contractors during prequalification and technical stages to select optimal safety systems and solutions.
- Identify and assess process safety risks, ensuring flare radiation, noise, and gas dispersion comply with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety reviews to verify facility operability and safety across all project phases.
- Conduct site surveys and contribute to initial design concept selections and project cost estimations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Corporate membership with NSE and COREN registration.
- Valid NEBOSH-HS55 certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of general experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 7 years dedicated to practical process and technical safety.
- In-depth knowledge of risk assessment, HSEQ guidelines, statutory compliance, and safety data management.
