About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital financial platform in Nigeria, empowering millions of customers with instant access to loans and financial services through our Android app. As a Senior Software Engineer (Identity), you will play a crucial role in our Identity engineering squad by building highly reliable, secure, and scalable systems that power identity verification, KYC, authentication, and customer onboarding processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to drive engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for Identity, KYC, authentication, and related financial services.
- Take ownership of complex technical projects through their complete lifecycle from design to production deployment and maintenance.
- Build reliable distributed systems capable of supporting millions of customers across multiple fast-growing markets.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, and engineering teams to deliver robust identity solutions.
- Contribute to technical architecture, code reviews, engineering standards, and best practices across the Identity squad.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security challenges within distributed microservices.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools and modern CI/CD practices with GitHub Actions to accelerate software delivery.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development within high-scale environments.
- Strong expertise in designing and building distributed systems, microservices, and scalable backend services.
- Proficiency in Go, or extensive experience in another backend language with a strong willingness to transition to Go.
- Solid understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure, databases, and secure production operations.
- Previous experience in Identity, KYC, authentication, fintech, or fraud prevention domains is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, technical leadership capabilities, and effective cross-functional communication.
