We are currently expanding our dynamic engineering team in Nigeria and seeking a talented Senior Software Developer with core expertise in Java and Node.js to drive our next generation of scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance software applications using Java and Node.js.
- Translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications and architectural solutions.
- Lead technical design discussions, establishing best practices for software architecture, frameworks, and emerging technologies.
- Write clean, reusable, well-documented code and perform rigorous code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents promptly.
- Develop and maintain scalable APIs, database integrations, and robust third-party system connections.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and cross-functional stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Implement automated testing frameworks, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Ensure applications strictly comply with enterprise security, data protection, and industry quality standards.
- Mentor junior and mid-level software developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on backend engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and Node.js, with a proven track record of building enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Extensive experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, version control systems (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
