About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Reliability Engineer specializing in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) to join our dynamic team in Lagos. In this vital role, you will ensure the protection integrity, control system stability, and overall performance of electrical and instrumentation systems within our steam power plant.
Key Responsibilities- Validate protection system settings, relay coordination studies, and fault level calculations for generators and transformers.
- Analyze Distributed Control System (DCS) and PLC disturbances to eliminate nuisance trips and improve system reliability.
- Lead monitoring of plant heat rate, auxiliary power consumption, and efficiency metrics from an EC&I standpoint.
- Support electrical and control risk assessments during planned outages and review return-to-service readiness.
- Implement predictive maintenance analytics and maintain digital dashboards for asset intelligence reporting.
- Investigate major incidents using root cause analysis and provide technical recommendations to reduce forced outages.
- Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electro-Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional experience in power utilities, oil and gas, or heavy asset-intensive industries.
- At least 3 years of experience providing independent technical assurance and supporting plant reliability.
- Deep expertise in electrical protection, power systems, control automation, and instrumentation measurement.
