About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier healthcare institution dedicated to medical excellence, research, and education. We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified Senior Registrar in Rheumatology to join our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering compassionate, specialized patient care while helping to train the next generation of medical leaders in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive specialist rheumatological care to outpatients and inpatients at the hospital.
- Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, diagnostic procedures, and evidence-based treatment plans for rheumatic diseases.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior medical doctors, resident doctors, and medical students.
- Participate actively in departmental research, clinical audits, and continuous medical education programs.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic patient wellness and optimal clinical outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records in compliance with hospital standards.
- MBBS Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
- Evidence of full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Valid current practicing license and NYSC discharge certificate or exemption evidence.
- A pass in the Primary Examination in either National PMCN or West African College of Surgeons/Physicians in the relevant field.
- At least 3 years of cognate experience after obtaining the Part 1 Fellowship.
