About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are dedicated to delivering world-class comprehensive diagnostics, acute care, and medical education across Africa. We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Senior Registrar to join our dynamic Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the initial assessment, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients across all age groups adhering to advanced life support protocols.
- Execute advanced life-saving procedures independently, including airway management, central and arterial line insertion, chest tube thoracostomy, and POCUS.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide bedside teaching to junior medical staff, nursing personnel, and interns during shifts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow, minimize waiting times, and manage department capacity efficiently.
- Participate actively in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and morbidity and mortality reviews.
- Possession of an MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program with relevant board certification.
- Current and valid certifications in ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex, multi-system emergency cases and performing emergency procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
