About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital dedicated to delivering world-class diagnostics and treatment across oncology, cardiovascular care, and general medical services. Developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we are expanding our elite team and seeking a driven Senior Registrar - Cardiology to provide exceptional, evidence-based patient care while undertaking advanced specialist training.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients with complex cardiovascular conditions across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and critical-care settings.
- Perform approved non-invasive and invasive cardiac procedures under consultant supervision, ensuring accurate procedural logs.
- Participate actively in the cardiology on-call rota, managing acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, and cardiac arrests using ACLS protocols.
- Contribute to clinical governance, morbidity reviews, clinical audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Support the teaching, mentoring, and day-to-day supervision of junior residents, medical officers, nurses, and students.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary heart team comprising cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and allied health professionals.
- Medical Degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and a valid annual practicing licence.
- Successful completion of relevant Part I Fellowship/Specialty Examinations from NPMCN, WACP, or a recognized equivalent.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in cardiology, with proficiency in ECG, echocardiography, and cardiac biomarker interpretation.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
