About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal institution founded in 1970, is seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Health Records Assistant (CONHESS 06) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining accurate patient health information, ensuring data integrity, and supporting the delivery of quality healthcare services within the university medical facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain confidential patient health records in accordance with established medical and institutional standards.
- Accurately input, update, and retrieve patient data using electronic health record systems and traditional filing methods.
- Ensure compliance with health data privacy regulations and institutional policies regarding medical information security.
- Coordinate with medical staff, departments, and administrative units to facilitate seamless patient flow and information sharing.
- Generate periodic statistical reports on patient attendance, disease incidence, and healthcare service delivery for management review.
- Resolve discrepancies in patient records and assist in auditing health information systems for accuracy and completeness.
- West African School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB) with five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics.
- A recognized certificate or diploma from a School of Health Technology in Health Information Management or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in health records management within a reputable hospital or clinical environment.
- Proficiency in computer operations and modern health records software.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and high standards of integrity for handling confidential data.
