About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the commercial viability of our projects, ensuring rigorous cost control, accurate measurement, and effective financial management from inception to final account settlement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage comprehensive cost planning, budgeting, estimating, and financial control for major construction projects.
  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, valuations, and comprehensive pricing documents.
  • Measure and value completed works, variations, and additional site instructions accurately.
  • Prepare interim payment applications and rigorously review subcontractor payment claims.
  • Monitor ongoing project costs against approved budgets to identify and address cost variances proactively.
  • Manage variations, contractual claims, extensions of time, and complex commercial disputes.
  • Review, evaluate, and negotiate competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations and agreements.
  • Assist with tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and overall procurement processes.
  • Maintain meticulously accurate records of project costs, financial commitments, payments, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on all commercial matters.
  • Prepare regular, detailed commercial and cost reports for senior management review.
  • Ensure strict compliance with contract terms, internal commercial procedures, and relevant industry standards.
  • Identify potential commercial risks and recommend actionable cost-saving and risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Support project close-out procedures, final accounts, and the final settlement of outstanding issues.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide junior Quantity Surveyors and commercial team members.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Active professional membership or certification such as NIQS, RICS, or a recognized equivalent is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant quantity surveying experience within the building, civil, infrastructure, or industrial construction sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in construction contracts, measurement, cost control, variations, claims management, and final accounts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and industry-standard quantity surveying or estimating software.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, communication, and commercial management skills.
