About the Role
3Line Card Management Limited is seeking an experienced and driven Senior POS Engineer to join our innovative technology team in Lagos, Nigeria. Since 2007, we have been dedicated to driving financial inclusion across Africa through secure electronic banking, issuer processing, agency banking, and identity management solutions. In this hybrid role, you will play a crucial part in architecting, developing, and maintaining robust point-of-sale (POS) solutions that power seamless transactions for businesses and individuals alike.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge POS solutions within 3Line’s core payment infrastructure.
- Integrate POS terminals seamlessly with payment gateways, card schemes, and switching platforms.
- Perform firmware updates, device configuration, and comprehensive troubleshooting to ensure optimal terminal performance.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry standards and security protocols, including EMV, PCI-DSS, and ISO 8583 standards.
- Analyze system logs to diagnose complex technical bottlenecks and implement effective performance optimizations.
- Collaborate closely with product, operations, and support teams to deliver stable and scalable fintech services.
- Mentor junior engineers, share technical expertise, and contribute actively to architectural and roadmap discussions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in POS terminal development, integration, and maintenance within the fintech or payments industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or Java with a strong grasp of embedded systems concepts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payment processing protocols, secure transaction handling, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, VPNs).
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
