About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal tertiary institution in Nigeria, is currently seeking a professional and vigilant Senior Porter (CONTISS 03) to join our esteemed campus community. In this vital support role, you will help maintain safety, order, and exceptional service standards across university facilities, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor campus buildings, residence halls, and designated entry points to ensure security and prevent unauthorized access.
- Welcome and direct students, visitors, and staff members to the appropriate campus offices or facilities.
- Maintain accurate logs of visitors, deliveries, and daily facility activities.
- Report maintenance issues, security breaches, or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate department.
- Assist with mail distribution, parcel receipt, and general administrative errands as assigned.
- Ensure common areas, lobbies, and entranceways remain clean, orderly, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Minimum of at least 4 credit passes including English Language in SSCE, WASC, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB.
- Proven work experience as a porter, security officer, or in a similar facilities support role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Basic understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to work effectively on shifts and manage daily routine tasks independently.
