About the Role
Dangote Cement Plc is looking for a motivated and analytical Senior Officer, Inbound Logistics to join our dynamic supply chain team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will coordinate and monitor the efficient movement of inbound raw materials, spare parts, equipment, and fuels from suppliers, ports, and warehouses to various plant locations. You will play a crucial part in ensuring timely deliveries, optimizing transportation costs, maintaining supply continuity, and ensuring strict compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements within Africa's leading manufacturing conglomerate.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate inbound transportation activities and guarantee the timely delivery of critical materials to plants and warehouses.
- Monitor shipment schedules proactively, addressing potential bottlenecks, delays, or supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Stores, Production, and Maintenance teams to align deliveries with daily operational requirements.
- Verify shipping documents, invoices, customs paperwork, and transport records to ensure absolute compliance with statutory regulations.
- Monitor essential logistics metrics such as delivery performance, freight costs, lead times, and overall vendor service levels.
- Maintain effective relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and key suppliers.
- Bachelor Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CILT, CISCM, APICS, or ICSP will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or warehouse operations within manufacturing, cement, heavy industry, or FMCG environments.
- Strong technical proficiency in inbound transportation management, ERP and SAP systems, customs processes, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated expertise in logistics cost control, vendor management, and data-driven process improvement.
