About the Role
247Bet is a next-generation sports betting and gaming platform built for Africa’s vibrant, connected audience. We are seeking a talented Senior Mobile Developer to own our React Native application across Android and iOS in a hybrid work environment based in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will build exceptional user experiences for millions of customers where performance, reliability, and data optimization are paramount.
Key Responsibilities- Build and own core app experiences in React Native across Android and iOS, including sportsbooks, wallets, and social features.
- Implement real-time features like live odds and in-play betting that stay resilient through network drops.
- Optimise relentlessly for mid-range Android devices, focusing on app size, cold start, and data usage.
- Handle money-critical flows with extreme care, ensuring idempotent bet submission and secure session handling.
- Manage release engineering, build pipelines, staged rollouts, and app store submissions.
- Monitor crash rates, ANRs, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with backend teams and mentor mid-level mobile engineers to maintain high codebase standards.
- 5+ years of mobile engineering experience, with at least 3 years specializing in React Native.
- Demonstrated history of shipping and maintaining production apps in the Play Store and App Store.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, alongside working knowledge of Kotlin and Swift.
- Proven expertise in performance optimization for low and mid-range Android hardware.
- Solid understanding of mobile security for financial transactions, secure storage, and CI/CD pipelines.
