About the Role
The Cross River State Government is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Officer II to join our dynamic healthcare delivery team in beautiful Calabar. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality clinical care, mentor junior medical staff, and contribute to the overall enhancement of public health services across our healthcare facilities in Cross River State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical, diagnostic, and surgical care to patients in accordance with national healthcare standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior medical officers, house officers, and nursing staff.
- Participate in emergency medical responses, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary clinical meetings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and medical ethics.
- Collaborate with public health officials on disease surveillance, prevention campaigns, and community outreach programs.
- Manage clinical department operations efficiently and recommend improvements for patient care delivery.
- Possession of an MBBCh or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Must possess a valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 5 to 9 years of active medical practice experience in a reputable hospital or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage medical teams effectively.
