We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our healthcare services team in providing exceptional dental care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients within the dentistry unit, appropriately referring complex cases.
- Support consultant-led clinics, ward rounds, and specialized dental procedures.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior medical officers and trainees, contributing to their professional development.
- Participate actively in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient-safety activities.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and ensure current Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) registration and licensing.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating patient care and supporting HMO processes through evidence-based practice.
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS or BChD) or equivalent registrable qualification from a recognized institution.
- Completed national housemanship/internship and NYSC, or possess a valid exemption.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-NYSC clinical experience, including progression through Medical Officer grades.
- Demonstrable competence in independent clinical patient management and supervising junior dental staff.
- Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in hospital clinical systems.
- Progress toward a postgraduate dental fellowship or additional relevant clinical training is an added advantage.
