About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Senior Medical Officer in Dentistry to join our esteemed client's healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver exceptional clinical care, manage dental patients independently across outpatient and inpatient settings, and provide leadership to junior medical professionals while upholding the highest standards of patient safety and clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent assessment, diagnosis, and comprehensive management of dental patients, referring complex cases appropriately.
- Support consultant-led clinics, ward rounds, and complex dental procedures within the hospital setting.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior medical officers and trainees, actively contributing to their professional clinical development.
- Participate actively in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient-safety programs.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and ensure current MDCN registration and licensure compliance.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, coordinating patient care and supporting HMO processes.
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS, BChD) or equivalent registrable dental qualification from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of housemanship/internship and NYSC, accompanied by a valid, current MDCN practising licence.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-NYSC clinical experience, with demonstrable progression in medical and dental officer roles.
- Strong clinical knowledge in dentistry with proven competence in independent patient management and staff supervision.
- Progress toward a postgraduate dental fellowship (such as NPMCN or WACS) is an added advantage.
