About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Librarian to join the esteemed team at the John Harris Library. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in advancing academic research, managing comprehensive information resources, and delivering exceptional library services to our vibrant university community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily operations and resource allocation within the John Harris Library.
- Provide advanced reference and research support to undergraduate students, postgraduate scholars, and faculty members.
- Curate, organize, and digitize academic collections to enhance accessibility and preservation.
- Conduct scholarly research and contribute to peer-reviewed publications in alignment with university standards.
- Collaborate with academic departments to integrate library resources into curricula and promote information literacy.
- Possess a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Lower Division.
- Hold a Master of Library Science (M.L.S.) or a Master's Degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant teaching or professional library experience.
- Must have at least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in recognized academic journals.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and familiarity with modern digital library systems.
