The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university renowned for academic distinction, is seeking a qualified and dedicated Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy to join our esteemed School of Basic Medical Sciences. In this vital academic role, you will lead impactful research, deliver engaging lectures, and mentor the next generation of speech and language pathology professionals in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive lectures, seminars, and practical training in Speech and Language Therapy to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and program enhancement within the School of Basic Medical Sciences.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Engage in community service and clinical outreach initiatives related to speech and language pathology.
- Possession of a First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- A terminal PhD degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a closely related medical/health science discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of active, post-qualification tertiary teaching and research experience.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in recognized academic journals.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and collaborate within multidisciplinary medical teams is an advantage.
