The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Senior Lecturer to join our Department of Social Sciences. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training for undergraduate and postgraduate social work students.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
  • Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
  • Participate in curriculum review and development to ensure alignment with global social work standards and NUC guidelines.
  • Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to departmental administration and committee work.
  • Engage in community outreach programs and partnerships addressing critical social issues in Nigeria.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a PhD in Social Work or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Must possess a First Degree with a minimum of a Second Class Upper Division, OR a Second Class Lower Division coupled with a PhD.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic outlets.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
