The Federal University Otuoke (FUO) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and dedicated academic professional to fill the role of Senior Lecturer in Social and Public Health Pharmacy. Located in the vibrant Niger-Delta region of Bayelsa State, our institution is committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and community development. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of pharmacy education, mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, and contributing significantly to the academic standing of the university.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in Social and Public Health Pharmacy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Initiate, develop, and independently supervise student research projects and theses.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement for the Faculty of Pharmacy.
- Engage in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees.
- Foster community engagement initiatives and establish partnerships with healthcare institutions and industry stakeholders.
- Possession of a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree, or recognized equivalents, in Pharmacy or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Demonstrated years of teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution as specified by Federal University Otuoke guidelines.
- A robust portfolio of scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Proven ability to attract research grants and successfully supervise academic research projects.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills suited for an academic environment.
