About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Lecturer in Public Health to join our vibrant academic community. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals within our Department of Nursing Sciences, combining rigorous teaching, impactful research, and community service.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Public Health and Nursing Sciences.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and review to meet current industry and NUC standards.Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and administrative duties.
- Mentor junior academic staff and foster a culture of academic rigor and professional integrity.
- Possession of a PhD in Public Health, Nursing, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- A strong publication record with a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed journal articles in reputable outlets.
- Must possess a First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and collaborate on multidisciplinary public health initiatives is an added advantage.
