About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal institution renowned for academic excellence and research innovation, is seeking a qualified and dedicated Senior Lecturer to join its esteemed Department of Pharmacy. This role focuses on advancing the academic and research capabilities of the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations within the department.
- Conduct high-impact research in pharmaceutical microbiology and biotechnology, publishing findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development, course design, and departmental academic planning initiatives.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees to support institutional growth and administration.
- Mentor junior academic staff and students to foster a culture of professional and academic excellence.
- Possess a PhD in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must possess a strong academic background, including a first degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of active and progressive tertiary-level teaching and research experience.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable national and international journals.
