Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory or clinical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate dental students.
  • Develop, update, and review curriculum content in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Medicine in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
  • Conduct high-impact research and publish peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international academic journals.
  • Provide clinical services and diagnostic expertise within the university teaching hospital framework.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Engage in community outreach programs and professional service related to oral health awareness and disease prevention.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a relevant PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Medicine or an equivalent terminal clinical fellowship qualification.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
  • A robust publication record with a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals.
  • A basic academic qualification of a First Degree not below Second Class Upper Division, or a Second Class Lower Division coupled with a PhD.
  • Evidence of active membership in relevant professional bodies and current practicing licensure where applicable.
  • Demonstrated capacity for academic leadership, student mentorship, and securing research grants.
