About the Role
The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the position of Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics within the Faculty of Radiography & Applied Health Science. Established in 2011, our institution is dedicated to academic excellence, innovative research, and expanding access to quality university education in Nigeria. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals by delivering engaging lectures, conducting groundbreaking research, and mentoring aspiring scholars in a vibrant academic community located in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Nutrition and Dietetics in line with approved university curricula.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-quality, impactful research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee assignments.
- Provide academic counseling and mentorship to students to foster their holistic professional development.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders and research partners to advance nutritional science and community health initiatives.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a directly relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- A minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- A strong publication record comprising at least ten (10) articles in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuous research productivity and the capacity to successfully supervise postgraduate students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills within a multicultural academic environment.
