The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Lecturer in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology to join our prestigious Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures, practical sessions, and seminars to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
- Develop and update course curricula in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology in line with NUC guidelines and global best practices.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Conduct impactful, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committee work.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Possession of a PhD in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology or a closely related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must possess a strong publication record with a minimum of 8 peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals.
- First degree requirement: A Bachelor’s degree not below Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
- Demonstrated ability to attract research grants and collaborate within multidisciplinary medical teams is an added advantage.
