About the Role
Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria, a prestigious private conventional university established in 2005, invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Science Education. We are looking for a dedicated scholar to contribute to our growing academic community across specializations including Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Computer Science Education, Educational Technology, and Mathematics Education.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of Science Education.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local, national, and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Participate in curriculum development, revision, and continuous evaluation to meet national and global educational standards.
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, and moral guidance to students to uphold the core values of the institution.
- Engage in departmental, college, and university-wide administrative duties and committee assignments.
- Contribute to community service initiatives and foster academic partnerships with relevant professional bodies.
- Must possess a Ph.D. degree in Science Education or a closely related field from a reputable and recognized university.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching, research, and administrative experience in a tertiary institution, preferably a university.
- Demonstrated evidence of strong academic publishing in reputable local, national, and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Active membership in relevant professional educational bodies and associations.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a proven commitment to ethical standards and moral uprightness.
